We provide support for cooperative businesses, family farmers, and rural area residents, enabling them to improve their lives and communities; and to maintain and support training and educational programs that will enhance the quality of life for rural residents.

MAC is the parent organization of the Mississippi Center for Cooperative Development. Member organizations include cooperatives, two credit unions, and two associated organizations. Our cooperatives are located across the state. Popular crops include watermelon, southern peas, okra, leafy greens, and sweet potatoes. Member organizations market their goods through multiple avenues: direct sales, farmers' markets, grocery stores, and food distributors/service providers.

The Association’s membership comprises several cooperatives/credit unions and associate members across Mississippi. The cooperatives are organized around the purchasing of agricultural inputs and the marketing of produce and livestock. Others operate housing rehabilitation projects, buying clubs, and credit unions. Each member co-op is individually owned and controlled by its constituent members. The Association has a Board of Directors, elected by the members, that meets regularly, makes policy, exercises fiscal control, and determines programmatic priorities.
